Janielle Callender has a longstanding passion for healing arts. She has over 16 years experience as a Registered Massage Therapist, having received her license through the College of Massage Therapy of Ontario in 2008. Prior to that, she graduated from a 2200 hour Shiatsu Practitioners course from the Shiatsu Academy of Tokyo (Toronto Campus) in 2000 and attained the designation of Certified Shiatsu Practitioner. After practicing as a Certified Shiatsu Therapist for 5 years she enrolled in the Centennial College Massage Therapy program and graduated with Honors. Janielle is committed to a client-centred care approach. Each client is unique and their injuries and pain cannot be matched or treated through one model. Through her training in Shiatsu, Swedish massage and Thai massage; Janielle is able to adapt to a wide variety of clients with different conditions. Her massage treatment style is always evolving. She is dedicated to a lifelong journey of learning, and throughout her career has taken courses in Hot Stone, Deep Tissue Massage, Muscle Energy techniques, Cupping and Athletic Taping. Janielle has a strong connection to the performing arts, and trained as a dancer throughout her youth. Most recently Janielle decided to augment her therapeutic practice by incorporating her love of fitness and movement: she became a Certified Pilates Comprehensive teacher. This enhanced certification enables her to work with a variety of clients for rehabilitation, athletic enhancement and overall fitness. Janielle truly believes that both passive and active therapy are essential for all people to be able to live long healthy lives.
